One More Pass....
Just one more pass around the AT-AT that represents the last few days of this semester with my trusty tow-cable and the walker will finally be down for the count. How's that for a Star Wars analogy?
This past week went by without me knowing. But what a week it was. I had car problems. I had phone problems. I basically just had problems all around. My car started dying in random places ... with no logical explanation as to why. The situations weren't linked in any way. But finally ... after dying a couple of times Sunday night (to and from the City, no doubt), it finally gave out on Monday. On my way to do the news, it died for good. I was able to start it one last time and get it into a dorm parking space for the time being. Travis was kind enough to help me around in his car. I'm glad we got it worked on and fixed at home over the break, or else we'd have double car trouble. Dad and I conversed back and forth and we finally decided that my car was going to have to be towed up to the dealership in the city. Long story short ... the fuel pump was broken and it cost an arm and a leg to fix. But by the grace of God, it got fixed and on Wednesday afternoon, my car was returned to me. My phone though? I just left my charger at home from the break ... and my phone was already almost dead. So mom and dad just mailed it up and I got it Thursday afternoon. I also had a ton of school work throughout this past week that I never thought I would get done, but did, of course. God is so good.
Now this week has a little more to it. It starts with a few things being due on Tuesday and ends with a final on Friday. My Phys Met III prof, Dr. Karoly, is going to be out of town during finals so our final in that class will be held this Friday of dead week rather than during finals week. And because of that, it won't be comprehensive. Praise God. Monday of finals week though, oh boy. Dynamics. That test is already beginning to frighten me. After surveying last year's final ... I'm afraid. Other than those two ... I have two take home finals which I'll get done as soon as I can. So bascially ... from now until I go home ... I will be able to be working on SOMETHING. I may not like it and it may not be due right away ... but I'm going to finish strong. Gone is lengthy free time this week. It's grindstone time.
A quick sports update as of Sunday night... OU lost at Villanova. Mavs beat the Hornets on Saturday, snapping a 2-game skid. Stars beat Carolina in a shootout on Friday. That was freaking awesome. Cowboys lost at NY Giants, losing hold of first place and slowly slipping out of the playoff picture. Ups and downs all around, but it's early in all of these seasons, sans NFL, so nothing is too bad yet. OU Football was picked today to play in the Holiday Bowl against Oregon, a 10-1 team and #5 in the BCS. Well, it might be a game. Hopefully it is. We might even win. That'd be cool.
I'm going to have to be intentional about getting good sleep this week. It won't come, otherwise. But I'll make sure I get it. I can't pull all-nighters. I need my sleep. Only in the recent past have a I come to cherish and value it for all its worth. It's much more important, in my opinion than trying to cram everything into the night before. Especially with material like dynamics ... that requires more than a day. The library will be my home over the weekend.
Well, on that note, I think I'm out for the night. I'll try to get some updates on my insane final days of the semester. Keep me in your prayers! I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!
